Chandler getting used to the feel of skates again

Thursday afternoon, I met the bus and Chandler at the new Pownal Rink for his schools first skate of the year. We had gone out together the day before to get some new skates for his larger than last year feet! He was pretty excited and the "buzz" from the kids in the changing room was full of anticipation. We quickly laced up our skates and we were off... The new rink looks great and is actaully an older rink that has been around for years, but was recently renovated to house a second ice surface with a new structure and roof around both.

Chandler's class was to use the original ice area, and we quickly found our way to it. Its seemed like quite a while since the last time we had our skates on (probably because it was), but before long we found our skating legs and were having a great time. We had many spills, bumps and laughs as many of the others were learning and progessing as well. Chandler's cousin Tristan and father Jeff (my brother) were there as well, which only added to the fun. The hour went quickly and we were the last ones getting off the ice. As we got ready to head home, the big question was "Daddy, when can we go skating again?"
